House Museum of Geo Milev

The phenomenon of Geo Milev

Geo Milev is a phenomenon in the Bulgarian culture of the 20th century.

A poet, publicist, translator, artist, humanist, pioneer of a whole new trend in Bulgarian poetry, embracing the native Bulgarian literature and art to the modern European spirit.
The family house and the Revival yard jealously keep the memory of the poet. The museum was opened in 1953 in the house, restored as it looked in the early twentieth century. The beautiful boxwood garden still welcomes all visitors, with the hundred-year-old oak spreading its branches above it, planted by the little Geo.
The museum exposition was created mainly with the donations of the family of the poet & ndash; manuscripts, letters, diaries, drawings of Geo Milev, as well as a large part of his personal library: books and magazines in several languages.
Years later, an exhibition hall was also built, with photos, documents and audio-visual equipment therein presenting  the life and work of the great poet.
Museum visit is an exciting meeting with the remarkable personality of Geo Milev - a powerful story and unforgettable touch to his world.
